Nairobi-Kenya
George Alwanga is revolutionizing youth sports in Kenya as President of the Kenya Federation of American Football. Since founding KFAF, he has introduced American football to over 5,000 students across Kenyan primary and secondary schools through accessible flag football programs that require minimal equipment and emphasize teamwork, leadership, and conflict resolution.
As IFAF Director for Africa (2016-2022), George expanded this school-based model across 10+ African nations, training teachers and coaches to integrate sports into educational curricula. His programs go beyond athletics—they address education access, mental health, drug abuse prevention, and youth employment through sports entrepreneurship.
Recognized as "Most Aspiring Leader in Kenya Sports," George holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, works as a software developer, and serves in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
